Jacques-Denis Tsanga, currently serving as Governor of Haut-Ogooué Province, has just been inducted as Grand Master of the Freemasons in Gabon. He's the boss now. The Grand Lodge of Gabon has been cleansed of its Beninese. In the country's Freemasonry, the time is also ripe for Gabonization.

 

It is said that Jacques-Denis Tsanga went to France, to receive the acceptance in January 2024 of Jean-Pierre Rollet, the grand master of the GLNF (the National Grand Lodge of France). The latter is said to have travelled to Libreville to attend the induction.

 

Following this enthronement, Jacques-Denis Tsanga and Jean-Pierre Rollet were reportedly hosted for dinner at the presidency by Brice-Clotaire Oligui-Nguema.

 

As usual, some delegations came from neighbouring countries and from afar. Lodges from Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea and Congo-Brazzaville are said to have participated. There were also representatives of the United States. On the other hand, Benin was not invited; a conspicuous absence since the last two Masters of Gabonese Freemasonry had been Maixent Accrombessi, and Jean-Denis Amoussou; both have now returned to their homes in Benin.

 

The outgoing number 2 of the Grand Lodge of Gabon, Lin Mombo, is said to have tried to remain in the new directory of the lodge, by activating the lobbying of the Vice-President of the Transition, Joseph Owondault-Berre. But apparently without success, Jacques-Denis Tsanga refused.

Jacques-Denis Tsanga, actuellement servant comme Gouverneur de la province du Haut-Ogooué, vient d’être intronisé Grand Maître des Francs-maçons au Gabon. C’est lui le boss désormais. La Grande loge du Gabon a été nettoyée de ses Béninois. Dans la Franc-maçonnerie du pays, l’heure est aussi à la Gabonisation.

 

Il se dit que Jacques-Denis Tsanga s’est rendu en France, se faire adouber en janvier 2024 par Jean-Pierre Rollet, le grand maître de la GLNF (la Grande loge national de France). Ce dernier aurait fait le déplacement à Libreville pour assister à l'intronisation.

 

Suite à cette intronisation, Jacques-Denis Tsanga et Jean-Pierre Rollet auraient été reçu à diner à la présidence par Brice-Clotaire Oligui-Nguema.

 

Comme d’habitude, certaines délégations sont venues des pays voisins et lointains. Les loges malienne, burkinabè, guinéenne, et Congo-Brazzavilloise y auraient participées. Il y avait aussi des représentants des USA. Par contre, le Benin n’était pas convié ; une absence remarquée puisque les deux derniers Maitres de la Franc-maçonnerie Gabonaise avaient été Maixent Accrombessi, et Jean-Denis Amoussou ; tous les deux aujourd’hui retournés chez eux au Benin.

 

Le numéro 2 sortant de la Grande Loge du Gabon, Lin Mombo, aurait tente de se maintenir dans le nouveau directoire de la loge, en actionnant le lobbying du vice-président de la transition, Joseph Owondault Berre. Mais sans succès apparemment, Jacques-Denis Tsanga aurait refusé.
