FINANCIAL TURBULENCE IN CEMAC ZONES! TURBULENCES FINANCIÈRES EN ZONES CEMAC!

The CEMAC area is going through a period of strong economic and financial turbulence, requiring urgent intervention by the world’s high finance.

The Heads of State, meeting at an extraordinary summit in Kintélé, Congo-Brazzaville, explicitly recognized the seriousness of the economic, monetary and financial situation affecting the sub-region.

The context appears to be marked by strong economic and financial tensions and lacklustre macroeconomic prospects.

It now seems that the recovery of the economies of the area now exceeds the individual capacities of the Member States; and the question of the CFA Franc is becoming essential to be able to face these major monetary challenges.

A little bit with their tails between their legs, the Heads of State of the sub-region have again requested support from international financial institutions, including the IMF, to ensure the viability of their public debt.

We are not on our way to progress!

La zone CEMAC traverse une période de fortes turbulences économiques et financières, nécessitant une intervention urgente de la haute finance mondiale.

Les chefs d'État, réunis en sommet extraordinaire à Kintélé, au Congo-Brazzaville, ont explicitement reconnu la gravité de la situation économique, monétaire et financière qui affecte la sous-région.

Le contexte apparaît comme étant marqué par de fortes tensions économiques et financières et des perspectives macro-économiques peu reluisantes.

Il semblerait désormais que le redressement des économies de la zone dépasse désormais les capacités individuelles des États membres; et la question du Franc CFA devient essentielle pour pouvoir affronter ces défis monétaires majeurs.

Un peu la queue entre les jambes, les Chefs d’État de la sous région ont encore sollicité un accompagnement des institutions financières internationales, notamment le FMI, pour assurer la viabilité de leur dette publique.

Nous ne sommes pas en voie de sortir de l’auberge !
