A WITNESS OF THE 1964 COUP PROVES TO US THAT ALI BONGO IS LYING REGARDING PARATROOPERS RAINING ON LIBREVILLE. UN TÉMOIN DU COUP D’ÉTAT DE 1964 NOUS PROUVE QU’ALI BONGO MENT À PROPOS DES PARACHUTISTES QUI PLEUVAIENT SUR LIBREVILLE

English Version

After Ali Bongo had claimed to have observed the French paratroopers jumping from planes over Libreville to end the 1964 coup, the Gabonese artist Marcel Djabioh has just done his duty of remembrance by issuing the following statement in the first person:

There has never been paratroopers dropped on Libreville during the intervention of the French army in February 1964. He (Ali Bongo) was perhaps remembering paratroopers that the French had used to drop weapons, food and medicine in Biafra.

As a pupil at the kindergarten Sister Hyacinthe Antini in 1964, unaware that there had been a coup, I had gone to my school on that morning, but everything was closed. My parents and I lived behind the camp of the French army officers, a few steps from the current town hall of the 3rd district. My father was a civilian employed in the stewardship of the French Army, located where the current base SEEG is located, just behind the only existing Water Tower of Libreville at the time.

Ali lied. There has never been a dropping of paratroopers over Libreville.

I had spent the night of February 18 alonside my mother who was hospitalized at the Kong hospital. On the morning of 19, posted at the Kong hospital gate, I observed the movements of French troops in downtown, within the area of the presidential palace occupied by the rebels. The camp AFAG (Auxiliary Gabonese Armed Forces) located where the current department of Budget is, was surrounded. No Gabonese military personnel could pick up food at the home of Albert Bongo, located opposite the current headquarters of Airtel, to bring it to him to Baraka camp.

It is a big lie.

Thank you to our compatriot Marcel Djabioh for this testimony that is an important contribution to our duty to remembrance, because we all need to fight imposture and restore respect for the truth in our country. If we must have reverence for our country, we must have respect for its history that should not be maligned at every turn.
