THE NEXT PSYCHOLOGICAL STEP TO BE CROSSED, TO KNOW HOW TO ACT REGARDLESS OF THE REGIME (PART1)! LE PROCHAIN PALLIER PSYCHOLOGIQUE Á FRANCHIR, SAVOIR AGIR EN FAISANT FI DU RÉGIME (PART 1)!

English version

"When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty." Thomas Jefferson.

The Sovereign National Conference (SNC) that in preparation follows its course and a timeline of activities is being developed. Marc Ona Essangui in a recent interview affirmed that yet again. For us, the most salient fact of that interview was that a new psychological Rubicon had been crossed, meaning the determination of Marc Ona Essangui and his colleagues organizers to have a National Conference that is SOVEREIGN please, without the involvement of the regime! Small minds would not understand the importance of the psychological threshold in question, these people who believe that populations can be controlled with batons and tear gas inhalation. The psychological threshold that the SNC will make Gabonese citizen cross is one that will allow people to go from being dominated and rather passive to a people that produces and shapes its own future. That's the issue; all great people have gone through this step.

It is for us infinitely sad to observe that Gabon, in its governance, continues to maintain itself as a place of suffering where a dominated and crushed people should have no hope of producing anything for and by itself. All obstacles are involved to hold the Gabonese people in current state. Barriers are made to stand always more numerous and for multiple reasons such as the necessity to get the anointment of the Bongos for anything to happen. So in the long run, the average Gabonese citizens are robbed of what is most precious, their spirit of initiative. The drama in Gabon is that somehow the regime would like to maintain populations at the stage of grasshoppers: eating, drinking, dancing, enjoying and reproducing. When it comes to thinking about the future of the country, especially of its governance, that is too much to ask! Those who dare suggest such heresy must be persecuted. There is certainly not a willingness to see the Gabonese people become more coherent and subtle. So an ambient slavery is maintained, within which people are afraid of everything; they are afraid to make the slightest judgment, because the specter of repression harbors constantly. People growl very little of their displeasure, and those who dare to do so are stigmatized as agitators or enlightened or danger to public order. So batons and tear gas start flowing. The SNC aims to make the Gabonese people psychologically go beyond the metaphorical stage of insect to that of Homo sapiens who assume their being and take responsibility for their future.

Imagine around a table, a forum, an arena, whatever the place Gabonese citizens liaising honestly about the governance of their country, without the regime being there, what would the message be? Sovereignty belongs to the people and no one else. When the people choose to express themselves, it is de facto a sovereign endeavor and nobody can say: "Ali Bongo has not authorized this meeting, so it is not sovereign." It would be the same situation that existed as the colonial powers wanted to continue to act as if the emancipation of indigenous people depended on their permission and forgot that once the psychological threshold of fear was crossed the independence of subjected peoples was just a matter of time. Imagine, dear readers, the psychological trigger that the SNC would be, sessions during which Gabonese people on their own, without being promised anything, would discuss the problems of their country, the big question that the regime wants to avoid at all costs being: is there really anything that works in Gabon?

The SNC is an opportunity to take political and social decisions that are adapted to local realities on the ground, and all this taking place in a republican framework because it is the people who will be demanding this conference. Those who want to preserve the status quo by not considering the possibility of change will only withness the awakening of a people, because they are stuck in reassuring resignation, other citizens are ready for a national affirmation of free will and it is to those citizens that the future belongs; may be very soon.
