TO REPAIR HER LOW CREDIBILITY, SYLVIA BONGO WANTS TO EXPLOIT THE FIGHT AGAINST RITUAL CRIMES TO GET BACK IN THE SADDLE. EN MAL DE CRÉDIBILITÉ, SYLVIA BONGO VEUT EXPLOITER LA LUTTE CONTRE LES CRIMES RITUELS POUR SE REMETTRE EN SELLE

English version

In Bongo’s Gabon, to give a veneer of morality, albeit cracked, to their governance, the sovereign in power have systematically asked their wives to put on philanthropist coats of; an operetta for sure, but philanthropist coats anyway. Once we saw Josephine Bongo, between dance steps, pretending to be interested in the national childcare, a momentum that resulted in her name being given to a pediatric hospital located in Owendo, a suburb of Libreville. Then we saw coming loudly Edith Sassou who became Bongo, who between establishing clinics and other charities, would be conspicuous by ensuring to project an image of a lady of heart. Today it is Sylvia Bongo’s turn to try to make people forget the corruption in which she is immersed, on her father’s and her husband’s side, by "working" for the welfare of poor Gabonese. One is touched by such generosity! Having so far failed to present her foundation in a credible perspective, and given the lurid revelations of her lavish spending on the Place Vendome in Paris and the mysterious budget line of more than one billion CFA francs, which for years was registered in the Gabonese Finance Act to the benefit of her foundation, Sylvia Bongo believes that she can "cleanse her body" by joining, even late, the fight against ritual crimes. To this blog, if we cannot condemn her for the interest in this problem, after all even if corrupt she is still a human being, we however are not fooled by the exploitation she wants to make of this fight for which, thus far, she had remained indifferent.

The press releases of the Association for the Fight Against Ritual Crimes (ALCR) transparently inform us and we say bravo to them for that, of the contacts that were initiated by the Sylvia Bongo Foundation to meet that NGO in order to hop on its efforts and join this fight. If we cannot reject the objectives of the Foundation it their absolute value, after all it is about saving the lives of human beings and if the Sylvia Bongo Foundation can help that Gabonese people, foreign people, women and children living in Gabon are no longer butchered, it would be great. What we want to note is for free Gabonese citizens to understand that Sylvia Bongo’s gesture is neither sincere nor altruistic. It is an interested act, as is everything that Foundation does and we must never forget that.

In general and particularly in Gabon, we all know that morality and politics are far from good bedfellows. As scalded cat fears cold water, history has shown and demonstrated to us that morality and politics cannot be combined. The "moral" or "philanthropic" policies observed in Gabon are often a “politically correct" way to disguise the exploitation of man by man for the sole horizon and prospect of consolidating the power of those who believe that Gabon is their property. By integrating the fight against ritual crimes, Sylvia Bongo becomes the part of the regime which by joining this movement gaining momentum, provides a way for the rulers to claim to have "worked" in the awareness and the eradication of this scourge. This is their pure and simple objective; we must be aware of that. These are, dear readers, the narrow limits of the categorical imperative for which this Foundation must engage the ALCR; Ali Bongo must demonstrate to the public that he is not insensitive to this scourge and brandish the work of his wife with the ALCR as evidence of this commitment.

Here's why, dear readers, between two mundane events and expensive cocktails, Sylvia Bongo suddenly realized that ritual crimes were endemic in Gabon and there was an association called ALCR she could use in appropriating its struggle. Fortunately, we have our eyes wide open!
