English version

This Saturday, while the regime had prohibited the Gabonese citizens from free assembly in the name of protesting against ritual crimes, and while the same regime is tying itself in semantic knots trying to explain its refusal to allow the march, some courageous Gabonese citizens reminded all of us of the power of a determined few. Several Gabonese citizens who know in their heart that they are free, decided to demonstrate at the Trocadero Square in Paris, France; and in Rio Crossroads of Libreville, their solidarity to the victims’ family and in defiance of the arbitrary prohibition by a regime trying to hide these crimes.

These free and courageous Gabonese citizens, who went out to Trocadero and Rio on Saturday, understand that the greatest danger to our collective future is apathy. They realize that the Gabonese people must overcome feelings of helplessness. They know that as human beings, we each have the power to make a difference through every action we take and through every word that we speak. But unfortunately, many of us do not believe this to be true. We hold onto the notion that we alone cannot make a difference. We hold onto the notion that many things are just not possible.

All of the great leaders that have ever walked on the face of the earth understood the possibility in using their lives to serve others. They believed they believed they had a duty, a purpose and the ability to induce others to change for the betterment of the community. The free Gabonese citizens on the pictures presented here understand that a nation has to be awakened one citizen at the time and they are doing their part to create this awakening.
