This blog joins the thousands of Gabonese that the spectacle of carnival or sporting events in which Ali Bongo plunges them since 2009, puts into a deep malaise. The disorder is that much deeper than these events cost Gabonese taxpayers already poor, money that could enable them to educate their children a little better, if not cure their rheumatisms in a half-decent hospital. But the worst is what we hear from the mouth of the Director of the Marathon of Libreville to be held at the end of the month, in the video above. He said on TV-5 that this expensive and unnecessary event is part of a plan by Ali Bongo to make Gabon into a sports destination.

But what is this nonsense? Who could give us the meaning of "sporting destination"? Is there even a developed or emerging country that has sports as a destination? The famous tourists announced since 2009 but that nobody sees, would they come to Gabon because the country would have become a sports destination? Since 1896 when the modern Olympics were revived, Germany has won over 1600 medals. Have you ever heard the Germans say that their country was a sports destination? No, they want to be known for their performance automotive and engineering products that are the envy of the world. In the same period, the U.S. has won more medals in 2650, but Americans prefer to talk about their great universities, their Nobel prices and technology. Even in Africa, Kenya which has won nearly a hundred medals against one for Gabon, has never declared its ambition to be known as a sports destination. Again, Gabon innovates; it would be the only country in the world recognized as a sports destination, that is to say, a country in which the government organizes sporting events all the time. But by God, this regime is hysterical!

So dear readers, here is why the Gabonese people is surrounded on all sides by all these sporting events with no end. The billion 200 million Indians, the billion and 300 million Chinese, the 148 million Japanese or 240 million Indonesians prefer to be known for their technological and academic development. In Gabon, the reverse is true, it will be known as good organizers of sports festivals at taxpayer expense.

Imagine that the face of a Japanese sitting in front of their TV set when they see Usain Bolt in the Libreville marathon and questioning his mobile phone to learn what country is being talked about in that Gabon; discovers that the human development indicators are catastrophic. Do you think they would be impressed by this country, Gabon? Do you think they would say that their next vacation will take place in Gabon, in this country without hospitals, where students take to the streets to remind governments that they have tasks and duties to fulfill?

Wouldn’t Gabon benefit more to be known as a medical destination? An academic destination? An artistic destination? An architectural destination? In short, a destination of excellence in the areas that matter? What this regime does is just shocking!

Dear readers, while other world leaders invest in the neurons of their peoples, Ali Bongo, who has a particular aversion to Gabonese with neurons, prefers to invest in Brazilian buttocks and in the sport muscle, be it French, Portuguese or from anywhere else. This blog has nothing against sport; on the contrary, well-proportioned sport has its place in any society. But when sport and fun become key ambitions that are required of a whole population, then there is something wrong. Gabon does not prepare for tomorrow! They do not want the Gabonese people to eventually stand on their two feet one day, because in an increasingly knowledge-dominated world, those who have invested everything in the buttocks and in muscles would be the slaves of those who have invested in neurons.

By concentrating the Gabonese people around mundane activities, they are being prepared for a slavery worse than what they suffer today. The American who watches his basketball game, the French, German or English watching their football game on the weekend; come Monday, go to work where they will be productive. Who can tell us what will the Gabonese citizen, who has a 1 in 3 chance of being unemployed, whose schools are closed, whose mother, sister, are wife, give birth on the floor in the hospital, do after attending will a small heat by Usain Bolt that would have cost him 150 million CFA francs?

Like all Gabonese, this blog celebrates the success of compatriots, of all countrymen, whether sporting, artistic or intellectual. All countries in the world have a sports policy because sport is very important, but it is only a tiny part in the priority investment of a country. You cannot focus on distractions and amusements and let the fundamentals of a country fall apart!

Ce blog rejoint les milliers de Gabonais que le spectacle des manifestations carnavalesques ou sportives dans lesquelles les plonge Ali Bongo depuis 2009, plonge dans un profond malaise. Le trouble est d’autant plus profond que ces manifestations coutent aux contribuables Gabonais démunis, les deniers qui auraient pu lui permettre d’éduquer un peu mieux ses enfants, sinon soigner ses rhumatismes dans un hôpital a peu près décent. Mais le pire, est ce que nous écoutons de la bouche du directeur du marathon de Libreville devant avoir lieu à la fin du mois en cours, dans la vidéo ci-dessus. Il dit sur TV-5 que cette manifestation couteuse et inutile pour nous, s’inscrit dans un plan d’Ali Bongo de faire du Gabon une destination sportive.

Mais qu’est-ce que cette foutaise? Qui peut bien nous donner la signification du terme « destination sportive »? Y a-t-il un pays développé ou même émergent qui soit une destination sportive? Les fameux touristes qu’on annonce au Gabon depuis 2009 mais dont personne ne voit la trace, viendront-ils au Gabon parce que le pays sera devenu une destination sportive ? Depuis 1896 quand les jeux olympiques modernes ont été ravivés, l’Allemagne a remporté plus de 1600 médailles. Avez-vous déjà entendu les Allemands dire que leur pays était une destination sportive? Non, ils veulent être connus pour leurs automobiles performantes et leurs produits d’ingénierie qui en font l’envie du monde entier. Dans la même période, les USA ont remporté plus de 2650 médailles; mais les américains préfèreront vous parler de leurs grandes universités, de leurs prix Nobels et de leur technologie. Même en Afrique, le Kenya qui a remporté près d’une centaine de médailles contre une seule pour le Gabon, ne s’est jamais déclaré ambitieux d’être connu comme une destination sportive. Cette fois encore, le Gabon innove; il voudrait être le seul pays dans le monde reconnu comme destination sportive; c'est-à-dire un pays dans lequel le gouvernement organise à tout va, des manifestations sportives. Mais pardi, ce régime est hystérique!

Donc chers lecteurs, voici pourquoi le peuple Gabonais est cerné de partout par toutes ces manifestations sportives à n’en plus finir. Le milliard 200 millions d’Indiens; le milliard et 300 millions de Chinois; les 148 millions de Japonais ou les 240 millions d’Indonésiens, préfèrent être connus pour leur développement technologique et académique. Au Gabon, c’est l’inverse, on sera connu comme de bons organisateurs de fêtes sportives au frais du contribuable.

Imaginez donc la mine que fera un Japonais assis devant son téléviseur quand il verra Usain Bolt venir médiatiser le marathon de Libreville et en interrogeant son téléphone portable pour apprendre ce qu’est ce pays Gabon dont on parle, il découvrira que les indicateurs de développement humain y sont catastrophiques. Pensez vus qu’il sera impressionné par ce pays Gabon ? Pensez-vous qu’il se dira que ses prochaines vacances auront lieu au Gabon, dans ce pays sans hôpitaux et où les élèves descendent dans la rue pour rappeler au gouvernants qu’ils ont des missions et des devoirs à satisfaire?

Le Gabon ne gagnerait-il pas à être connu comme une destination médicale ? Une destination universitaire ? Une destination artistique ? Une destination architecturale ? Bref, une destination d’excellence dans les domaines qui comptent ? Ce que fait ce régime est simplement choquant!

Chers lecteurs, pendant que les autres dirigeants du monde investissent dans les neurones de leurs peuples, Ali Bongo qui a une aversion particulière pour les gabonais à neurones, préfère investir dans la fesse brésilienne et le muscle sportif qu’il soit français, portugais ou d’ailleurs. Ce blog n’a rien contre le sport, au contraire; le sport bien proportionné a sa place dans toute société. Mais quand le sport et l’amusement deviennent les principales ambitions qu’on impose à tout un peuple, alors il y a quelque chose qui ne va pas. Le Gabon ne se prépare pas à demain! On ne veut pas que le Gabonais se mette debout un jour car dans un monde toujours plus dominé par la connaissance, ceux qui auront tout investi dans la fesse et les muscles seront les esclaves de ceux qui ont investi dans les neurones.

En concentrant les Gabonais autour d’activités banales, ont les prépare à un esclavage encore pire que celui qu’ils subissent aujourd’hui. L’Américain qui regarde son match de basket; le Français, l’Allemand ou l’Anglais qui regardent leur match de football le weekend; Lundi venu, reprennent le chemin du travail où ils seront productifs. Qui peut nous dire ce que fera le Gabonais, qui a une chance sur 3 d’être chômeurs, dont les écoles sont fermées, dont la mère, la sœur, l’épouse, accouchent par terre à l’hôpital, fera après avoir assisté à un petit échauffement d’Usain Bolt qui lui aurait couté 150 millions de francs CFA?

Comme tous les Gabonais, ce blog célèbre les succès des compatriotes, tous les compatriotes; qu’ils soient sportifs, artistiques ou intellectuels. Tous les pays du monde pratiquent la politique sportive car le sport est très important, mais ce n’est qu’une partie infime dans la priorité des investissements d’un pays. On ne peut pas privilégier les distractions et les amusements et laisser les fondamentaux d’un pays s’écrouler!
