IF THE AFRICAN DICTATORSHIPS ARE SUPPORTIVE OF EACH OTHERS, THE DEMOCRATS ALSO SHALL DO THE SAME AMONG THEMSELVES. SI LES DICTATURES AFRICAINES SE SOUTIENNENT, IL FAUT QUE DÉMOCRATES AUSSI LE FASSENT ENTRE EUX

English version

In Gabon , we regularly talk about how fed up with the dictatorship of Françafrique, we are. We say we want a cohesive society giving everyone a chance to succeed, to thrive, to work, to be productive. We talk about the mess of those people who are unemployed and live below the poverty line. This situation is unsustainable, both for individual citizens, and for social cohesion and the unity of the nation. But in a world increasingly connected thanks to new technologies, we almost forget the most important thing; which is that the situation in Gabon is not unique in the region and on the continent. Françafrique is rampant and causing damage in many countries. Gabon will not become free if the Françafrique belt around it remains in place in its sourrounding, if dictatorships supporting each others are still well entrenched and if African democrats in these countries refuse to build human connections which could become the foundation for Solidarity and the empowerment of citizens in the region.

Here's why dear readers, we want to present to your reading here , a press release of the Collective of Solidarity with the Social and Political Struggles in Africa, published October 28, 2013, on the situation in Chad. The similarities with Gabon are striking, and we hope that the needs of solidarity will be so as well!
