English Version

Ali Bongo has announced that he will march on Sunday in Paris at the Republican event organized in response to the terrorist attack against the newspaper Charlie Hebdo, which caused twelve deaths. Ali Bongo is going to march in the name of freedom; one either wants to laugh or throw up.

The family of Bruno Mboulou Beka will appreciate that. This family that Ali Bongo has relieved of their loved one by shooting him to death on 20 December 2014.

The family of Francis Edou Eyene will appreciate that. This family that Ali Bongo has relieved from their parent by arresting and incarcerating him on 20 December 2014 for no apparent reason.

The family of Jonas Moulenda and Désiré Ename will appreciate that. These families that Ali Bongo freed from the presence of their parents forced into exile in Cameroon and France, respectively, because they have an editorial line the regime does not like.

The families of all detainees and missing from the events of 20 December 2014 will appreciate that. These families that Ali Bongo freed from the presence of their parents, some of whom they still have no news of.

The families of the students often beaten and jailed will appreciate that.

All freedom-loving Gabonese will appreciate that.

While Ali Bongo will play hypocrite in Paris, would it be possible for the Gabonese people to march for freedom of expression in Gabon without the regime and its militias telling them that their march is illegal because it "disturbs public order "? It would be the irony of the century to see Ali Bongo march for freedom of expression in France and simultaneously ban it in Gabon.
