Have you listened to C'Bon's speech in Tchibanga? Not a word about the debt, nor about the acquisition of Assala Energy. It was all about economic nationalism in the informal sector because "other countries are doing it." C'BON went to Senegal and said that all the taxi drivers there are Senegalese, so Gabon should do the same. The common people are being served a narrative, and they'll probably rejoice. It’s pathetic!

 

In his speech, C'BON hammered home his preference for national citizens when it comes to jobs in the informal sector and demanded that the government strictly apply the law. But to this blog, his rhetoric was very demagogic because it was based on generalizations and vague information, when it wasn't outright inaccurate.

 

It seems to us that in this speech, C'BON exploited the topic of immigration and national preference to gain the favor of Gabonese citizens, without having to offer realistic solutions that conform to republican principles for the real problems undermining the daily lives of Gabonese people.

 

The common people will inevitably embrace C'BON's positions, seeing them as legitimate answers to the economic problems that, according to them, are caused by mass immigration.

 

The common people think that fighting against illegal immigration will magically improve their economic conditions.

Avez-vous écouté le discours de C’Bon prononcé à Tchibanga ? Pas un mot sur la dette, ni sur l’acquisition d’Assala Energie. Tout sur le nationalisme économique dans l’informel car d’autres pays le font. C’BON a été au Sénégal et dit que tous les chauffeurs de taxis sont Sénégalais, donc il faut faire de même au Gabon. Le petit peuple est servi et il va certainement jubiler. C’est lamentable !

 

Dans son discours, C’BON a martelé sa préférence nationale pour l'accès aux emplois du secteurs informel et demande au gouvernement une application stricte de la loi. Mais pour ce blog, sa rhétorique était très démagogique, car elle reposait sur des amalgames et des informations assez vagues, quand elles n’étaient pas inexactes.

 

Il nous semble que dans ce discours, C’BON a instrumentalisé le sujet de l'immigration et de la préférence nationale, pour s’attirer les faveurs des Gabonais, sans avoir à proposer de solutions réalistes ou conformes aux principes républicains, aux vrais problèmes qui minent le quotidien des Gabonais.

 

Le petit peuple va inévitablement embrasser les positions de C’BON, en les prenant comme des réponses légitimes aux problèmes économiques qui, selon eux, sont causés par l'immigration de masse.

 

Le petit peuple pense que lutter contre l'immigration clandestine va améliorer ses conditions économiques, comme par magie.
