THE ACCROMBESSI’S CASE AT THE CENTER OF FRANCO-GABONESE RELATIONS, ACCORDING TO LA LETTRE DU CONTINENT! L’AFFAIRE ACCROMBESSI AU CENTRE DES RELATIONS FRANCO-GABONAISES, SELON LA LETTRE DU CONTINENT!

English Version

La Lettre du Continent is of the opinion that the Franco-African relations are now obscured by the recent arrest in Paris of Maixent Accrombessi. This arrest would have caused hysteria at the Gabonese presidency and its consequences would likely significantly disturb the Paris-Libreville axis.

La Lettre du Continent says that despite the attempts by Ali Bongo to befriend the Elysée Palace, the climate between Libreville and Paris remains abysmal. After the publication and media coverage of the book by Pierre Pean; after the recent seizure of the Gabonese presidential Boeing; after the recent arrest of Accrombessi; Ali Bongo feels increasingly abandoned by Paris.

Regarding the Accrombessi affair, La Lettre du Continent also informs us that the French authorities are interested in the acquisition by Gabon via Accrombessi and Seydou Kane (who stays at the George V when he is in Paris), of a patroller called " La Tapageuse ", from the French company Piriou Naval Services. Again suspicions of colossal retro-commissions are hovering.

La Lettre du Continent says that at the time of his arrest in Paris, Maixent Accrombessi had no mission order. A backdated mission order was hurriedly drafted in Libreville and submitted to the French authorities so the diplomatic immunity mechanism could be invoked. Notably, it is Laurent Fabius, while on holiday in Toulouse, who intervened to ask for the relaxation of Maixent Accrombessi, on the supplication of Ali Bongo. It is Laurent Fabius’office that validated the false mission order issued to Accrombessi. When one considers that Laurent Fabius came to Libreville for the New York Forum Africa in the past; one can reasonably imagine that suitcases full of money have passed through there.

For La Lettre du Continent, it is also the Accrombessi case that prompted Ali Bongo to make the announcement of the giving of his inheritance shares to the Gabonese youth. Ali Bongo wanted especially to create a safeguard by making the Gabonese population forget the arrest of his chief of staff. These symbolic announces of transfer to the State of the residence of camp De Gaulle in Libreville and two mansions in Paris, are just a diversion. La Lettre du Continent considers that since the succession is still not settled, Ali Bongo was giving away units that do not exist in reality. For example, ownership of the two mansions in Paris remains claimed by Yacine Queenie and Omar Denis, the two children of Edith Lucie Sassou Nguesso.
