Around the world, following the publication of unbearable images of the murder by asphyxiation of George Floyd, an African-American; anti-racist demonstrations have been held. These demonstrations have given rise to deep reflections which are leading to a questioning of the relationship between the Western countries which were involved in the slave trade, and their attachment to characters who played a big role in the slave trafficking, or in colonization.

The consequence is that at the moment, we witness that statues and monuments representing major figures of colonialism and the slave trade, are vandalized, decapitated, and sometimes downright taken down.

These statues have become the emblems of the Western problematic in that they would like to present themselves as being progressive, while at the same time adulating the strong symbols of their past oppression of non-European peoples.

Westerners must choose between protecting their criminal moral heritage around the world, and getting rid of these disturbing symbols.

In any country, statues are both works of art and tools of glorification. They are placed in the public square to play a particular role which is neither politically nor morally neutral. They are put forward to honor people or events that we would like to commemorate. To celebrate events that we are proud of.

When Emmanuel Macron says that France will not unbolt any statue, he is mistaken because he condemns France to continue to celebrate in certain cases, monsters. He knows this is unacceptable from the perspective of the previously oppressed people. That's why these people are on the right side of history and Macron is not.

À travers le monde, suite à la publication d’images insupportables du meurtre par asphyxiassions de George Floyd, un Afro-Américain ; des manifestations anti-racistes se sont tenues. Ces manifestations ont donné lieu à de profondes réflexions qui sont en train de déboucher sur une remise en question du rapport entre les pays occidentaux qui furent hier esclavagistes, et leur attachement à des personnages ayant joué un grand rôle dans la traite des noirs, ou dans la colonisation.

La conséquence est qu’en ce moment, on observe que des statues et monuments représentant des figures majeures du colonialisme et de la traite des noirs, sont vandalisées, décapitées, et parfois carrément déboulonnées.

Ces statues sont devenues les emblèmes de la problématique occidentale qui voudrait se présenter comme étant progressiste, mais qui adule les symboles forts de leur oppression passée des peuples non-européens.

Les occidentaux doivent choisir entre protéger leur criminel héritage moral à travers le monde, et se débarrasser de ces inquiétants symboles.

Dans tout pays, les statues sont à la fois des œuvres d’art et des outils de glorification. Elles sont placées sur la place publique pour jouer un rôle particulier qui n’est ni politiquement ni moralement neutre. Elles sont mises en avant pour honorer des personnes ou des événements que l’on voudrait commémorer. Pour célébrer des évènements dont on est fier.

Quand Emmanuel Macron dit que la France ne déboulonnera pas de statue, il se trompe car il condamne la France à continuer à célébrer dans certains cas, des monstres. Il sait que cela est inacceptable du point de vue des peuples opprimés d’hier. Voici pourquoi ces peuple sont du bon côté de l’histoire et non Macron.
