ALERT ALERT ALERT ALERT ALERT ALERT ALERT ALERT

Since this morning I am receiving people in distress and people who simply witnessed the atrocities committed yesterday by the Gabonese security forces, for example the fact that they were picking up the people they killed. Thus, in PK5, they killed five people and took away 4 immediately, they could not pick up the fifth person killed: the crowd got involved to the point that there were a clash between the crowd with bare hands and the security forces. It is in these circumstances that the fifth body was kept by the crowd, considering also that the security forces were left out of ammunition.

I also received a woman who told me of the disappearance of her 15 year old son.

Yesterday at approximately 6:00 pm, she asked her son to take out the trash and to go throw it instead at the location arranged for this purpose. This place is located on the edge of the public road at a place called Pipermint in Akébé Ville. The family does not live far away from there. The teenager took the trash to go throw it at the specified location. Meanwhile, she went about her household duties. But her was not coming back, at around 7:00 pm, she began to worry and went out to look for her son in that area.

By asking questions left and right, she was told that indeed his son came to throw the trash, and that in doing so the security forces were passing by and simply kidnapped him. The locals who witnessed the scene and one of them who had a car, decided to carefully follow the security forces to see what would happen to the child. The security forces took the boy to the place of detention called "La Fopi."

The child is called Nkoghé Mvé Nkoghé Leblanc nicknamed Poupi.

The father went to La Fopi this morning to demand the release of his son. It was confirmed that the child is physically there, but he cannot be released because the authorities want the security forces put in custody as many people as possible. They have an obligation to produce the number, they must therefore arrest as many people as possible who will be officially charged with vandalism. So the security forces arrest whomever they want, anyhow and anywhere and lock them up so that the prosecutor could accused them, in the coming days, of breakage.

Poupi’s mother is completely distraught and has vowed to set herself on fire if ever the Gabonese government does not return her son intact.

PRESS RELEASE UPG, opposition.

The decline in the rule of law has taken another step in Gabon, on Saturday, 20 December 2014.
Deprived of any access to public service media dedicated to the glory of the prince, the activities of the Party in power and its allies from all sides, the opposition is now deprived of all public events.

Taken by Guy Bertrand Mapangou this Interior Minister who is permanently freed himself from his obligation of impartiality by calling publicly for the candidacy of Mr. Ali Bongo Ondimba for the presidential election of 2016, this unacceptable measure contrary to all democratic ethics will not be accepted.

Imposed upon the Gabonese people to forbid them to demand the truth about Ali Bongo Ondimba’s civil status, this iniquitous measure has already caused six (06) death, many injured and led to mass arrests of free citizens.

To end a predatory regime, which added contempt for human rights to bad governance, the Union of the Gabonese calls for a general mobilization of all its organs, at the same time that it demands the immediate release of its activists arrested for merely exercising a public freedom.

ALERTE ALERTE ALERTE ALERTE ALERTE ALERTE ALERTE ALERTE

COMMUNIQUE DE PRESSE UPG , Opposition.
